James Madison, the 4th President of the United States of America, was born in the year 1751 in Port Conway, Virginia. He attended Princeton (then known as the College of New Jersey) studying history, government, and law.
James grew up with his eleven siblings on a tobacco farm in Virginia. He was not very fond of going outside because he was always getting sick. So instead, he spent a lot of his time inside reading. Fortunately, he was extremely intelligent and excelled at school.
As Madison grew up, local politics and military absorbed much of his time. He served on the Orange County Committee of Safety in 1775. The next year at the Virginia convention, which, besides advocating various Revolutionary steps, Madison framed the Virginia constitution. In 1776-77 Madison served in the House of Delegates.
