Adapted from an earlier note I wrote on another forum:
One thing I want to bring to the table, is the discussion of the primal purpose of our organization, call it our “first principle”.
We have this organization in order to provide a network or support. What else are societies for? We support each other in each aspect of our lives. Most importantly, we must recognize that we have a duty to each member of our family; and our family is growing and thus our responsibility is growing.
As new families are formed, and existing families grow we must look to strengthening the bonds between them.
The first principle is community. The communal virtues; Loyalty, Fellowship, and Duty are our watchwords. What are we if not a society devoted to each other? To the values that strengthen our communities and our lives!
We must have Loyalty, Fellowship, and Duty in our lives. To create a stronger society we need to remember that there are communal virtues, that they deserve a place in our homes, our schools, and in our day to day lives.
