This article derives from one of my dear friends. Let’s call him WCP. WCP thinks about things very deeply and with penetrating clarity, as you will see from this article. The post covers how the mainstream media declined to release certain details of the case where a Muslim high school student brought a device into school in order to inflame people’s passions. This kind of reporting is far too widespread and ingrained in news culture these days.
I’m sure you’ve heard about the arrest of a Muslim teenager over bringing a homemade clock to his high school. The court of public opinion has rallied in support of Ahmed and chimed in with its overwhelming verdict of guilty against the police, the school administration, teachers, anyone they can slap the title of “RACIST” on.
This accords very conveniently with the desires of modern society on two counts. First it dumbs down the issue to its most basic talking point, thereby eliminating any possibility of “shades of gray” and making it palatable to the twitter-sphere. Second it categorizes in buzzwords so we know what social justice we are fighting for or against, racism is bad, underrepresentation in STEM fields comes from this.
